The school

The school of dancing Assud, opened on September 2004 in Bara all’Olivella road and at the moment it is the only school of dancing of Palermo that is situated inside the perimeter of the old walls of the town. It is located in an artistic-craftsmanlike pedestrian precinct in which there are a lot of shops like jeweller’s workshops, pottery laboratories, a little theatre, a laboratory of Sicilian puppet theatre, restaurants, shops of woodwork and interior decoration and so on… The school presents a wide variety of dance courses, from the Argentine tango to the hip-hop, from the classical ballet to the modern and contemporary dance, Caraibic and oriental dance and Flamenco, and it also suggests a gym- tonic course. Moreover, there are other activities like stages, time courses and temporary events that will be publicized every time.

...Esto es asi' lo que esta' en juego es la pasion del baile como tal, aquella que nos lleva a disfrutar de ese unico e de esos unicos tangos que se realizan maravillosamente, de modo ocasional y furtivo, con algun imprevisto partenaire.
Cuando uno espera que esa magia se realice cada vez que va abailar, la magia del encuentro, y no la perfecion de una coreografia armada, no hay lugar en el alma mas que para el tango milonguero...
